But whilst name is re-energised, product remains exact same popular formula

HyopStop, the glucose gel popular with diabetes patients for over 20 years, has changed its name to GlucoGel.

The line ‘formerly known as HypoStop’ will be printed clearly on the packaging, and will remain indefinitely to ensure there is no confusion for users of the product. Similarly, minor packaging upgrades in line with the new name have been designed to ensure the product is instantly recognisable as the same successful product as HypoStop.

However GlucoGel’s Penny McCormick is keen to reassure GlucoGel users that there have been no other changes to the formulation of the product whatsoever.

“HypoStop has been popular for 20 years, especially with endurance athletes and people who have diabetes. However, in order to continue using the name HyopStop, we would have been required to undertake clinical trials, which would require inducing hypos in patients. We agreed the most straightforward route would be to change the name of the product.

“We can assure all users of GlucoGel, formerly known as HypoStop, that the formulation has not changed in any way. GlucoGel remains the same easy to administer and convenient solution for anyone requiring a dextrose lift.”
